So I Ask You ~ ~ Can Alvin & The Chipmunks Be That Far Behind?

It's late. Oh man, it's actually half past way past late, and the rain refrain, which could morph into tomorrow's freezing precipitation, percussions a syncopated pulsation of the drum roof riff. Warmth becomes me, as does the good, good, good vibrations from the university jazz station whose frequency I frequent. Compilations, compendiums and clever classics in non-commercial cueing croon 'cross the room and the reason for the season settles in, slow and easy, the way slow and easy was intended to play.
Surprise programming switcheroo and Harry Nilsson's schmaltz of "Reee-memmm-berrr" gets a blast from the past fly*by from "Snoopy and the Red Baron" zooooooming the same skies he and he did when I was 11, when I was glorious 17, when I was the 30*something coolest Mom of cool-fun moms, and right this very now.

I hear myself smile/ask myself out loud, "Can Alvin & The Chipmunks be that far behind?", and I tune out all the gloomsayers who get their jollies by crassing out Christmas.

Henry Miller leaned over to Satchmo with ~

"Art teaches nothing,
except the significance of life.
"

Satchmo of course, knowing full jazzy well
that indeed it
was a wonderful world,
just hummed along to ol' Hank's attunement,
let the music of art play'round inside him, absolutely.

" Ohhhhhh yeahhh. "
